In this article, we'll explore why we sometimes suspend or delete photographs from our platform and how you can appeal if it happens to you.
At Irys, our main priority is keeping our platform professional, safe and free from harmful or offensive content. We have a system in place that identifies potential breaches of our community guidelines.
This is usually content that portrays things such as violence, self harm, pornography or anything that maybe construed as distasteful, offensive, illegal or vulgar.
We're not trying to punish people. We're just trying to create an environment where people can exhibit their work without fear of seeing something that may upset them and keep everyone safe.
If your post is flagged
If our software or another user flags one of your posts, one of the team will review this manually to see if it breaches our terms. We'll either decide to reject the review or suspend your post.
While your post is under review, you'll see the following over the image:
If we reject the flag
If we decide to reject the flag, no further action is needed! Your post remains active on the platform and people can continue to view it and interact with it.
If we uphold the flag
If we decide to uphold the flag, your post will be taken down immediately as it likely violates one of our community guidelines.
If you disagree with our decision
Nobody's perfect! And that's why if you disagree with one of our decisions, you should contact the team and explain, in detail why you believe the post should be reinstated or allowed to be re-uploaded. We'll discuss this with you in a transparent way and re review your image. We will always justify the reasons for taking down your posts.
